Court Appearance - Murder of Philip Finnegan

A man in his 30s is expected to appear Naas District Court this morning, Tuesday 7th November 2017 charged in connection with this investigation.

The body of Philip Finnegan was discovered in Rahin Wood, Co Kildare on the 2/9/16.

Garda Press Office      Gardaí at Leixlip are appealing for information following the discovery of a body of a male in Rahin Wood, Co. Kildare yesterday evening, 2nd September 2016.

The location remains sealed off to facilitate an ongoing examination by members of the Garda Technical Bureau. A post-mortem examination by the Assistant State Pathologist Dr. Bolster commenced this afternoon at Naas General Hospital and will continue tomorrow (4/9/2016). The process of identifying the deceased is ongoing. A case conference was held at Leixlip Garda Station and an incident room has been established.

Speaking at Leixlip Garda Station this evening, Inspector Paul Dolan said ‘Investigating Gardaí are appealing for information and in particular to anyone who visited Rahin Wood near Carbury, Co. Kildare, during the month of August to come forward and contact the Incident Room at Leixlip Garda Station.
