The man arrested yesterday (16/3/17) in connection with a serious assault in Co Louth has been released without charge. A file will now be prepared for the information of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí investigating a serious assault on a female (minor) in Co Louth on Monday 13th March 2017 have this evening; Thursday 16th March 2017 arrested one male in connection with this investigation. He was arrested in the Dublin area at approximately 6pm and is currently detained in a Co Louth Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigations are continuing.
