Gardaí in Balbriggan are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred between a truck and a pedestrian this evening Monday, 20th March, 2017.
A male, 27 years, pedestrian was fatally injured on the M1 just after junction 5, Balbriggan at approximately 7 p.m. this evening. His body has been removed to James Connolly Memorial Hospital Mortuary. The male driver of the truck, was uninjured.
The scene of the collision on the M1 from junction 5 is currently closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are at scene. Local diversions are in place.
