Assault Investigation Blanchardstown 12th March 2017

An Garda Síochána at Blanchardstown are appealing for information following serious assault incident on Main Street, Blanchardstown on the 12th March 2017.
At approximately 01.55hrs a male in his early 30’s sustained serious head injuries during an incident outside a licensed premises. He was taken by ambulance to Connolly Hospital where he is continues to receive treatment. (His condition is understood to be stable.)

A 30-year-old man was arrested by investigating Gardaí and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Blanchardstown Garda Station. He has since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses. They are particularly appealing to anyone who may have been socialising in the area, purchasing food in nearby take-away outlets or to taxi drivers working in the area at the time of the incident  to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on (01) 666 7000 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
