Update - Arrests in Mark Desmond Murder Investigation on 2/12/16

Gardaí investigating the murder of Mark Desmond in the Lucan area on the 2nd December 2016 have arrested 2 men.

The 2 men were arrested in the west Dublin area this morning and are detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at stations in the DMR West.  

The men, in their 20s and in 30s,  were arrested following a planned operation involving the local Detective Unit, Regional Armed Support Unit and other local units and took place in the Clondalkin and Lucan areas.

Garda Press Office   Gardai in Lucan are investigating the discovery of the body a male in his 30’s at Griffeen Valley Park, Lucan this evening after 8pm with gunshot injuries.

The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination and Gardai are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything in around the Grifeen Valley Park area this evening to contact Lucan Garda Station on 01- 6667300, The Garda Confidential Telephone line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
