Arrest – Discovery of human remains in Enniskerry, Wicklow on the 10/6/17

Gardai in Bray investigating the discovery of human remains in Wicklow can confirm that additional body parts were discovered today (Tuesday 13th June, 2017) and that the deceased is a female (earlier believed to be a male).

Investigating Gardaí are appealing to members of the public who were in the general area of Military Road / Laragh Co Wicklow in the recent past and who may have seen anything suspicious or unusual to contact the incident room at Bray Garda Station on 01-666 5300, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.

As part of this ongoing murder investigation a man is his early 30s was arrested late this evening in Wexford and is currently detained in garda custody.

Further remains have been discovered by Gardaí and Defence Forces during searches carried out today (12/6/2017).
Additional remains were recovered by the Garda Water Unit at Glenmacanass waterfall near to the site of yesterday’s discovery, and by Defence Forces personnel at Lough Brea Lower on Military Road.  Both scenes are preserved for forensic examination. 

Investigating Gardaí are continuing to appeal to members of the public who were in the general area of Military Road / Laragh Co. Wicklow in the recent days and who may have seen anything suspicious or unusual to contact the incident room at Bray Garda Station on 01-666 5300, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station. 

The investigation is ongoing and further updates will follow.

Gardaí investigating the discovery of human remains on the 10/6/17, previous Press Release below refers, can now confirm that further human remains have been discovered in an area known as Glenmacnass Waterfall, Co Wicklow.
The remains were discovered yesterday (11/6/17) two scenes are now being preserved for a Garda Forensic Examination.

Gardai investigating the discovery of human remains yesterday evening, Saturday, 10th June, 2017 on Military Road, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow will hold a media briefing this evening at 5p.m. at Bray Garda Station.

Garda Press office Gardaí at Bray are investigating the discovery of human remains at Military Rd, Enniskerry, Co Wicklow. The discovery was made by a member of the public at approximately 7.45pm last evening (10/6/17) who immediately contacted Gardaí.

The scene of the discovery is preserved for a Garda forensic examination. The office of the State Pathologist and the local Coroner has been notified.

The remains have yet to be identified and enquires are ongoing. Searches at the site are continuing and no further information is available at this time
