Renewed Appeal Carlow Hit and Run 17th June 2017

Gardaí are renewing their appeal for witnesses following a hit and run collision in Co Carlow on June 17th 2017 in Carlow Town.

At about 8.20pm two pedestrians were injured when they were struck by a vehicle described as a dark coloured (possible blue)4x4 while out walking on a local road in the Urglin Rutland area of Carlow Town.   The 4X4 was coming from the Benekerry direction and the crash happened near Orglin Church.

The offending vehicle left the scene in the direction of Rays Cross.   A 59-year-old man was seriously injured while the second pedestrian, a 23-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle failed to remain at the scene.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses. Anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone with information is asked to contact Carlow Garda Station 059-9136620 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
