Unauthorised taking and ramming incident at Kiltale, Meath on the 15/9/16

On the 15th September 2016 as part of Operation Thor, Gardaí from Trim Garda station were on patrol in the Kiltale area of Co Meath.

At approximately 11.30am they observed a target vehicle, a silver VW Golf with four males in the forecourt of a service station in Kiltale. As the members drove into the forecourt the suspect car reversed into a civilian car and injured a female. The suspect car then rammed the Garda car and fled the scene. Two of the suspects fled the scene on foot but were followed by both Gardaí. One suspect (18 years) was arrested on suspicion of burglary an is being detained at Trim Garda station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended. 

The injured female and two Gardaí were taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown for treatment.

The silver golf was found a short time later in a field approximately one mile from Mullagh Cross on the Summerhill to Dunboyne Road. Local Gardaí are been assisted by the Air Support Unit in a search of the area.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have seen this car a silver VW Golf in and around the Kiltale area or may have seen it being abandoned at Mullagh Cross to contact them at Trim on 046 9481540, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
