On the 14th September 2016 at approximately 8.30am, as part of Operation C-Port involving Gardaí, Customs and the DSPCA, Gardaí stopped a van bound for England.

During a search of the van, Gardaí discovered approximately 54 pups (Jack Russell’s, Pugs, Shih Tzu, Beagles, Cocker Spaniels, Bichons Frise) in a cage. The puppies were seized and handed over to the DSPCA as there was no valid documentation produced. The pups will be quarantined and then placed for adoption.

This is an on going operation by Gardaí, Customs and the DSPCA on Operation C-Port at Dublin Port. DSPCA has estimated the value of the pups seized at approximately €34,000.
