Garda National Property Recovered Day - Thursday 22/9/16

In an effort to reunite property recovered by An Garda Síochána with owners and to provide support to victims of crime, a Garda National Property Recovered Day will take place on Thursday 22nd September 2016.

While most property recovered by An Garda Síochána is immediately returned to its owners, particularly in the recovery of property stolen in the course of theft and burglaries, there are cases where An Garda Síochána is unable to identify the owner and the property remains in Garda custody.

Members of the public are invited to attend selected Garda stations, in each Garda Division, where photographs of property in Garda custody can be viewed. In addition the public will be able to avail of the services of Crime Prevention Officers and Victims Services at selected stations.

Property will also be available to view on line via the Garda website www.garda.ie

Note:

A comprehensive list of locations, times and services provided (Crime Prevention Officers and Victims Services, Age Action Ireland) will be available from 13/09/16) on www.garda.ie

Social media continues to be a very useful tool for An Garda Siochana including Internationally. Recently a camera lost by a French National visiting Wicklow was successfully returned through social media after the owner had returned home to France, see: http://tinyurl.com/j3almu2
