€100,000 cash seized and one man arrested Dublin 3rd September 2016

As part of ongoing investigations targeting serious criminal activity in the Dublin Region Gardaí attached to the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, assisted by the newly formed Special Crime Task Force, stopped and searched a truck at the M50 roundabout, junction 4, Ballymun, Dublin last night, Saturday 3rd September 2016 shortly before midnight.


During the operation Gardaí located and seized a significant amount of cash concealed in the vehicle estimated at being in excess of €100,000. A man, 32 years, was arrested at the scene. He was detained at Ballymun Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 but has since been released from Garda custody without charge. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
