Witness appeal fatal road traffic collision at Shelbourne Road, Dublin on the 9/10/16

Gardaí in Donnybrook are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision in Dublin on 9th October 2016.

At approximately 00.25hrs a 47-year-old male pedestrian was fatally injured when he was stuck by a car on Shelbourne Road, Dublin 4.  He was treated by emergency services personnel but was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. The driver of the car was uninjured.

Shelbourne Road between Bath Avenue and Lansdowne Road is currently closed to traffic to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The body of the deceased has been removed to the City Mortuary and the Coroner has been notified.

Gardaí would particularly like to speak with the driver a blue people carrier/MPV taxi which stopped in the vicinity of Shelbourne Road at the time of the accident. This taxi stopped and let people out before driving off in the direction of Merrion Road.
