Arrests following discharge of firearm Fairview, Dublin on the 18/10/16

Gardai have arrested two males following an incident where a firearm was discharged at a house in Fairview last night.

At approximately 11.30pm Gardai received a report of a firearm been discharged at a house on Inverness Road in Fairview. On arrival it was discovered that a shot had been fired at an upstairs bedroom window from outside causing it to smash. There were four occupants in the house at the time (no one in the damaged room) and no one was injured.

In a follow up operation shortly afterwards two males, one in his 20’s and one in his 30’s, were arrested in Donabate. The males are currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Swords and Clontarf Garda Stations.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and investigations are ongoing.
