Update - Serious Traffic Collision on the M50, Dublin on the 11/11/15

A male aged in his 30's is expected to appear before a sitting of Blanchardstown District Court this morning (25/11/2016) charged following a Garda investigation into a serious traffic collision on the M50 Dublin on the 11th November 2015.

A 47-year-old woman seriously injured in a collision on the M50 on Wednesday morning last was pronounced dead in Tallaght Hospital yesterday evening (13/11/2015). She has been named as Martina Loughlin from Edenderry, Co. Offaly. The Coroner has been notified.

Investigating Gardaí are renewing their appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.

The incident occurred when two trucks and a car were involved in a collision on the southbound carriageway of the M50 near junction 7 Lucan at approximately 5.30am on Wednesday morning (11/11/2015).

Investigating Gardaí are particularly appealing those who were travelling on the M50 southbound between junctions 6 (Blanchardstown) and 9 (Red Cow) or who may have merged onto the M50 Southbound at the junction 7 (Lucan) via the N4 Eastbound/Westbound between 5am and 5.45am to contact them.

Gardaí are investigating a serious road traffic collision which occurred on the M50 Southbound close to junction 7, Lucan, Dublin this morning, Wednesday 11th November 2015 at approximately 5.30am.

The collision involved a car and two trucks. A woman, 47 years, the driver and sole occupant of the car was seriously injured. She was taken to Tallaght Hospital where her condition is described as critical. The two male truck drivers, aged 33 and 47 were uninjured.

The road was closed for a period of time to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened.
