A briefing will be held at Store Garda Station at 4.30pm today (24/5/16) by Gardaí investigating a fatal shooting which occurred at Avondale House Flats, North Cumberland Street, Dublin 1 this morning.

The man injured in this morning’s shooting incident in North Cumberland Street , Dublin 1 was pronounced dead a short time ago at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.

Gardaí at Mountjoy in Dublin are investigating a shooting incident which occurred at Avondale House Flats in North Cumberland Street, Dublin 1 at approximately 10am this morning (24/5/16).
A man has been seriously injured following the shooting. He has been removed to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.
The scene is sealed off and a technical examination of the area is expected to take place.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the area of North Cumberland Street or may have information, to contact the Gardaí at Mountjoy Garda Station on 01 666 8600, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
