Man Arrested today following Aggravated Burglary Castleknock on 6th May 2016

Gardaí investigating an aggravated burglary which occurred at Georgian Village, Castleknock on the 6th May 2016 have today arrested a man in the Dublin area in relation to the investigation.

The man is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

The incident occurred at a house in Georgian Village, Castleknock, Dublin 15 on Friday morning, 6th May 2016 shortly after 11am. Two men, dressed as postal workers entered the house, produced a firearm and threatened the occupants.

One of the occupants managed to get out of the house during the incident.

The two men then left the scene in possession of a safe and items of jewellery.
No injuries were reported. Investigations are on going.
