Garda Memorial Day at Dubhlinn Gardens, Dublin Castle on the 21/5/16

The Annual Garda Memorial Day for members of An Garda Síochána killed in the line of duty will take place at the Dubhlinn Gardens, Dublin Castle, on Saturday the 21st May 2016 at 12 Noon.

This year’s Memorial will include the presentation of a Remembrance Medal by the Garda Commissioner to the family of Garda Tony Golden, Omeath Garda Station.

This year’s event will also be attended by An Taoiseach, Mr. Enda Kenny T.D and An Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality Ms. Frances Fitzgerald T.D, as well as many of the family members of Garda members who are on the roll of honour.

Journalists attending are asked to email their intention to pressoffice@garda.ie and to be at the Little Ship Street entrance to Dublin Castle at 11.30am on the 21st of May. Due to limited space at the Memorial only those journalists who have confirmed their attendance by email will be allowed access.

In line with previous Garda Memorial Days due to the solemn nature of the event we will not be facilitating media interviews on the day.
