Witness Appeal - Fatal House Fire at Carrickmacross, Monaghan on the 21/3/16

Gardai in Carrickmacross wish to appeal for witnesses to a fatal house fire that occurred at St. Macartans Villas, Carrickmacross on the 21/03/16 at approximately 1.30am.

A male in his 60’s was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda where a post mortem was carried out by the Deputy State Pathologist, Dr. Michael Curtis.  The results have been passed to the investigation team.

The scene was examined by the Cavan/Monaghan Divisional Scene of Crime Unit and The Garda Technical Bureau. The cause of the fire has yet to be established.    

          
Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses who may have been in the area of St. Macartans Villas, Carrickmacross between 7pm on Sunday 20th  March and 2am on Monday 21st March to contact them at Carrickmacross Garda Station 042 9690190, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
