Serious fatal road traffic collision on the Bantry Line Co Cork on the 9th March 2016

Gardaí in Clonakilty, Co Cork are investigating a serious road traffic collision near Togher Village, Co Cork on the 9th of March 2016.

 
At approximately 5.30pm a car and a 4 x4 collided two miles east of Togher Village on the Bantry to Crookestown Rd(locally known as Bantry Line) R585. The male driver(30's) of the car was seriously injured and was airlifted to CUH where he is described as being in a critical condition. The male driver of the 4x4 was also taken to CUH but his injuries are described as non life threatening. There was no one else in either vehicles.
 
The road is closed to facilitate a Forensic collision examination and there are diversions in place.
