Robbery in Ongar Village Dublin 13th March 2016

Two men arrested

Gardaí have arrested two men, aged 37 and 40 years, in connection with a robbery that occurred at a supermarket in Ongar Village, Dublin 15 last night Sunday 13th March 2016 at approximately 8.30pm.

It is believed that up to three men, in possession of firearms and knives, entered the shop. They threatened staff and demanded cash. The raiders then left the scene empty handed in a silver coloured car.

Gardaí, including local uniformed members, Community Police and District Detective Units attended the scene and carried out a search of the location. Two men were arrested close to the scene. They are currently detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939-'98 as amended.
 
Gardaí also recovered a car, a firearm and a knife.

The scene was preserved and technically examined.
