Serious assault Dublin 5th March 2016

Gardaí are renewing their appeal for witnesses to a serious assault on Harold’s Cross Road in Dublin at about 4am this morning 5th March 2016.

Shortly after 4am Gardaí and ambulance services were called to an incident outside Park View Apartments, Harold’s Cross.  This is directly opposite Harold's Cross park. A 57 year old man was discovered injured in what Gardaí believe to have been an assault. The injured man is in a serious condition at St James' Hospital.

The suspect may have left the scene in the direction of Terenure and Gardaí are examining CCTV in the area and carrying out door to door enquiries.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was in the area between Harlod's Cross Bridge and Terenure between 3.30 and 4am to contact them at an incident room at Rathmines Garda Station on 01 666 6714 or on 01 666 6700.
