Man due in Court following Robbery of Pharmacy in Castleknock on the 9th March 2016

Gardai at Blanchardstown have arrested a man in his 40's following a robbery at a pharmacy at Castleknock on 9th March 2016.

 
At approximately 7.25pm an off duty member of An Garda Siochana observed a male acting suspiciously in the vicinity of a Pharmacy at Castleknock Shopping centre.
 He then contacted Gardai at Blanchardstown. He observed this man enter a Pharmacy. The man threatened staff and demanded money and assaulted a customer. The off duty Garda entered the pharmacy, identified himself as a member of An Garda Siochana, and the man was arrested, with assistance from two uniformed Gardai from Blanchardstown who had arrived at the scene.
 The male was taken to Blanchardstown Garda station where he was detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
He was charged this morning and has been brought to Blanchardstown District Court for 10.30am sitting this morning the 10th March 2016.
No one was seriously injured in the incident.
