Investigation into death of infant boy Co. Kerry 6th March 2016

Gardaí are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death of an 11-month-old baby boy at an apartment complex in Killarney, Co. Kerry.

Shortly before 6pm Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene of an incident at an apartment on Upper High Street, Killarney. A baby boy was treated at the scene by emergency services personnel but was pronounced dead a short time later. A male aged in his 30s with serious injuries was taken from the scene by ambulance to University Hospital Kerry, Tralee.

The baby’s body remains at the scene which is currently preserved. The Office of the State Pathologist has been informed and preliminary examination will be carried out by the Dr. Bolster later this evening.
