Fatal road traffic collision Co. Tipperary 4th March 2016

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the N62 at Clongur, Thurles, Co. Tipperary which occurred at 9.40pm on 4th March 2016.

The collision involved a car and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a man in his late 30s, was fatally injured. The driver of the car was not injured. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body taken to Clonmel Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place.

The road at the scene remains closed to facilitate an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators. It is expected to re-open in the next hour or two.
