Fatal road traffic collision Clonmore Togher County Louth 12th March 2016

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Clonmore, Togher, County Louth last night, Saturday 12th March 2016 shortly before 11.30pm.

A woman, aged in her early 70's, suffered serious injuries when the car she was travelling in as a passenger collided with another car. She was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda where she was later pronounced dead. A post mortem is to be arranged.
 
The driver of this car, a woman aged in her early 60's, and the two occupants of the second car, a woman, 29 years and a man, aged 28 years, were also taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
 
Emergency Services also attended the scene which has been preserved to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision investigators. The road remains closed and local diversions are in place.
