Drug seizure in Cavan and Meath on the 18th March 2016 Cannabis Plants street value €410,000

As a result of an ongoing Operation by Gardai from Baileboro assisted by the Regional Support Unit into the sale and supply of controlled substances in the Cavan area, two premises were searched, one in Virginia, Co. Cavan and the other at Ross, Co Meath.

During the first search in Virginia, Gardai discovered approximately €210,000 worth of cannabis plants(subject to analysis). Three males(28, 30 and 30 years) were arrested and detained at Cavan Garda station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended. One male(30 years) was released yesterday evening without charge, the other two males were charged and are due to appear before a special sitting of Cavan District Ct at 8pm on the 19th March 2016.

During the second search in Ross, Gardai discovered approximately €200,000 worth of cannabis plants(subject to analysis). One male(24 years) was arrested and detained at Kells Garda station under the provisions of section of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended and is due to appear before Ct No. 2, CCJ, Parkgate st, Dubin 8 at 2pm today the 19th March 2016
