Drug Seizure and Arrests in South Inner City, Dublin on the 22/3/16

Gardaí from Kevin Street have seized heroin and arrested three people as part of an operation targeting the supply of controlled drugs in the south inner city.

Heroin with an estimated street value of €55,000 (analysis pending) was seized when Gardaí from the Kevin Street Drugs Unit, assisted by local and Divisional Units, searched two flats in the Dolphins Barn area late last night (22/3/2016).

Two males (20 & 30s) and a female (40s) were arrested during the operation. They are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Kevin Street and Kilmainham Garda Stations.

Investigations are ongoing and updates will follow.

These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
