Drugs Seizure in Blanchardstown, Dublin on the 28/7/16

As part of intelligence led joint operation involving the Garda Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau supported by the Special Crime Task Force a number of vehicles were intercepted in the Blanchardstown area shortly after 9pm last night (28/7/16) .

As a result of this operation four kilos of cocaine (subject to analysis) was seized. Two men (36yrs & 34yrs) were arrested. In follow up searches in the Cabra and Clondalkin areas a further two kilos of cocaine (subject to analysis) was seized. The estimated street value is approximately €420,000. Both men are currently detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
 
These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
