Arrest - Robbery in Athy, Kildare on the 30/7/16

Gardaí investigating a robbery at a filling station in Athy Co. Kildare have arrested a man in his 20's.

The incident happened on Thursday 28th July shortly before 7pm when a lone raider entered the filling station on the Carlow Road in the town, threatened a female staff member with a handgun and demanded cash. The man left on foot with an amount of cash.

Gardaí investigating the robbery have this morning Saturday 30th arrested a man in the Athy area. The man is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Newbridge Garda station.
