Gardaí in Blanchardstown are investigating a fatal traffic collision which occurred in Hartstown, Dublin in the early hours of this morning (3/1/2016).
At approximately 2.40am two female pedestrians (40s) were seriously injured when they were struck by a car on Hartstown Road. Both were taken by ambulance to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown. One of the women was later pronounced dead, the second remains in a serious condition. The occupants of the car were uninjured.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are at the scene and local traffic diversions are in place. The Coroner has been notified.
