Drugs seizure and arrest in Tallaght, Dublin on the 9/2/16

As part of an ongoing operation into the sale and supply of controlled substances in Dublin City Gardaí from the Drugs Units attached to Ballymun searched a house in Tallaght, Dublin 24 yesterday evening (9/2/16).

During the course of the search Gardaí discovered approximately 13 kilos of Cocaine (subject to analysis) with an estimated street value of over €930,000. A small quantity of Ecstasy tablets (subject to analysis )was also seized during the course of the search. In a follow up operation Gardaí arrested a man in 40’s in connection with this investigation. He is currently detained at Ballymun Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended. 


These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
