Witness appeal - Fatal road traffic collision in Kilmallock, Limerick on the 7/12/16

Gardaí investigating the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at Old Commons Road, Blackpool, Cork this evening, Wednesday 7th December 2016 will hold a media briefing tomorrow morning, Thursday 8th December 2016 at 11.45am.

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on Lord Edward Street, Kilmallock, Co Limerick yesterday evening, Wednesday 7th December 2016 at approximately 5.15pm.  

A male pedestrian, aged in his mid 50's, suffered fatal injuries when he was struck by a lorry. He was pronounced dead at scene. His body was taken to University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem is to be arranged.  

No other injuries were reported. No arrests have been made.  

The scene was preserved and a section of Lord Edward Street, Kilmallock was closed for a period of time to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The road has since reopened.  

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, particularly those who were in the vicinity of Lord Edward Street, Kilmallock yesterday evening between 4.30pm and 5.30pm are asked to contact them at Bruff Garda Station on 061 382940, The Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
