Man charged in connection with firearm seizure

Gardaí have charged a man, 44 years, in connection with the seizure of a firearm. He is due to appear before Dublin District Court 1, Criminal Courts of Justice this morning, Thursday 8th December 2016 at 10.30am.

The man was arrested following the seizure of a firearm during a planned search in the Mountjoy Street area, Dublin 7 on Tuesday December 6th 2016. He was detained at Store Street Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended. He remains in Garda custody.
