€200,000 cash seized and one man arrested Dublin 27th August 2016

As part of ongoing investigations targeting serious criminal activity in the Dublin Region Gardaí attached to the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, assisted by the newly formed Special Crime Task Force, stopped and searched a vehicle in the vicinity of the Fonthill Road, Dublin 22 yesterday afternoon, Saturday 27th August 2016 at approximately 1pm.

 
During the operation Gardaí located and seized a significant amount of cash, concealed in the vehicle, estimated at €200,000. A man, 39 years, was arrested at the scene. He was detained at Ronanstown Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 but has since been released from Garda custody without charge. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
