Fatal Road Traffic Collision Co. Louth 23rd April 2016

Gardaí in Dundalk are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision involving a pedal cyclist in Blackrock, Co Louth.


Shortly before 7am Gardaí and Emergency Services were called to the scene of an incident involving a male cyclist (aged in his 50s) at Birch’s Lane, Blackrock. The man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. His body was removed to Louth County Hospital for a post-mortem examination and the local Coroner has been notified.

Garda forensic collision investigators have been requested to attend and examine the scene. The road is currently closed to traffic and local traffic diversions are in place.
