Update - Discovery of a body of a female in Co. Mayo on the 31/5/15

A post-mortem examination has been completed on the body the female discovered in Co. Mayo on the 31st May.

The results are inconclusive and the outcome of toxicology tests are awaited.

A technical and forensic examination of the scene is ongoing. A Garda Family Liason Officer has been appointed and an incident room established at Claremorris Garda Station.

Gardaí in Claremorris are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body of a female, aged in her late 40s, at a house in Ballycurrin near Glen Corrib, Co. Mayo on the 31st May 2015.

The discovery was made when Emergency Services were called to the house at approximately 4.30pm. The woman’s body remains at the scene which has been preserved pending a forensic and technical examination. The local Coroner and the Office of the State Pathologist have been notified.

Enquiries are ongoing.
