Two men arrested following attempted robbery Dublin on the 16/6/15

Two men are in custody following an attempted armed robbery at a post office at Killnamanagh in Dublin 24, this morning 16th June 2015.

At about 10.55am two men pulled up outside the post office at Kilnamanagh in a red Toyota Corolla. The two occupants of this car, one armed with what is believed to have been a hammer, entered the post office and demanded cash. No money was handed over and the men fled the scene in the red Toyota which was later burned out at Treepark Road.

The two man one his 30s and the other in his 40s went on foot towards Tymon North. At this point they were intercepted by Gardaí responding to the incident and arrested. Both are detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Tallaght Garda Station.
