Joint Revenue Customs Service / Garda Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau Operation on the 11/6/15

As part of an intelligence led joint operation involving Revenue’s Customs Service and the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, a controlled delivery of prohibited drugs originating in Spain was carried out today in the North inner city area of Dublin.

Approximately 50 kgs of herbal cannabis (Subject to analysis) with an estimated value of €1 million was seized by Customs. The drugs were concealed in a consignment of soap from Spain. 

Three men have been arrested in connection with this investigation (aged between 24ys & 34yrs) and are detained at Mountjoy and Store Street Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

 
These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
