Fatal road traffic collision Cloonmore Tuam County Galway 6th June 2015

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N17 at Cloonmore, Tuam, County Galway this morning, Saturday 6th June 2015 at approximately 2.20am.

A man, 55 years, suffered fatal injuries when the car he was driving was struck by another vehicle. He was pronounced dead at scene. His body has been taken to University College Hospital Galway where a post mortem is to be arranged.
 
The lone passenger in this car, male, 20 years and the driver, sole occupant, of the second vehicle, male, 22 years, were also taken to University College Hospital Galway with non life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
 
The N17 is currently closed at Cloonmore Bridge, Tuam to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place.
 
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who travelled the N17 at Cloonmore Bridge between 2am and 2.30am on 6th June 2015 to contact them at Tuam Garda Station on 093 70840, The Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
