Update - Drug seizure and arrest in Nenagh, Tipperary on the 30/12/15

The 36 year male who was detained at Nenagh Garda Station has been released without charge this afternoon.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

On the 30th December 2015, as part of an intelligence led joint operation between Officers of the Revenue Commissioners Customs Service, the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau  and the Nenagh Divisional Drugs Unit, a search operation was carried out in Nenagh, Co Tipperary.

The search resulted in the seizure of  2 kilos of cannabis herb with an estimated street value in excess of €40,000 which was seized by Customs.

During the course of this joint operation one male (aged 36 yrs) was arrested by Gardai and detained at Nenagh Garda Station, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
