Gardaí are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Turran, Pollagh, Tullamore, County Offaly this morning, Sunday 27th December 2015.
Shortly after 12 midday, a man, 38 years, was discovered in a vehicle which had struck a bridge and entered a local river. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The man was taken to Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore where he was pronounced dead. A post mortem is to be arranged.
The road was closed for a period of time to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened.
