Drug seizure and arrest at Dublin Port on the 24/12/15

Cocaine with an estimated street value of €770,000 (pending analysis) has been seized as part of an ongoing investigation targeting the sale and distribution of illegal drugs.

The discovery was made when a haulage vehicle was intercepted and searched, during an operation involving Officers from Revenue Customs Service and the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau of An Garda Siochána, at Dublin Port earlier today.
 

During the course of the operation a male (aged 51 yrs) was arrested for drug trafficking offences. He is currently detained at Store Street Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
