Court Appearance - Firearms incident in Deerpark, Tallaght, Dublin on the 20/12/15

A man is 40s is due to appear before District Court Number 2 at the Criminal Courts of Justice this afternoon charged in relation to an incident at Deerpark Manor Tallaght yesterday 20th December.

Following on-going contact between Garda negotiators and a male subject the incident has now concluded.

The man in his forties has left the house Deerpark Manor, Tallaght unarmed and has been arrested by Gardaí.

 
The man was taken to Tallaght Garda Station at 5.30pm where he is detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.

Gardaí remain at the scene of an incident at Deerpark Manor, Tallaght and the situation remains contained.

At about 2.30am this morning a man in his 40’s and believed to be armed, barricaded himself into his house and a number of shots were fired from the premises. The man is alone in the house and no injuries have been reported.

 
A cordon is in place and Specialist Garda Negotiators are at scene. Communication is ongoing between negotiators and the man.

As a result of a call Gardaí attended the scene of an incident at Deerpark Manor, Tallaght at approximately 2.30am, Sunday 20th December 2015.


A lone man, aged in his 40’s and believed to be armed, barricaded himself into his house and a number of shots were fired from the premises. No injuries have been reported.
 

A safety cordon has been put in place and a Specialist Garda Negotiator is at scene. Investigating Gardaí are being supported by Garda National Units.

 
The incident is ongoing.
