Witness Appeal - Firearms incident at Boyne Street, Dublin 2 on the 17/8/15

Gardaí in Pearse Street investigating the discharge of a firearm at Boyne Street, Dublin 2 on Monday 17th August, 2015 are appealing for information.

At approximately 1pm Gardaí were called to a disturbance a involving a number of youths at Boyne Street, Dublin 2. A number of gun shots were fired during the incident. Those involved had left the scene on of arrival of Gardaí.  There were no reported injuries and no arrests made at the time of the incident. During a follow up operation a female, aged in her 20s, was arrested as part with the investigation. She was detained under section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939 at Pearse Street Garda Station and later released without charge.

Gardaí investigating this incident have already received assistance from a number of witnesses. They are now making a special appeal to a taxi driver who took a female passenger from the Pearse Street area at approximately  1pm and brought the her  to St. Vincent's Hospital, Merrion Road, Dublin 4 arriving shortly after 1.30pm on Monday 17th August, 2015, to contact them. The taxi is described as a silver coloured Kia car.
