Two arrested and charged in connection with drugs seizure at Rathcoole, Dublin on the 19/8/15

During the course of this joint operation two males, aged 39 and 32 years were arrested for drug trafficking offences and were detained at Clondalkin Garda Station, under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

On the 19th August 2015, as part of an intelligence led joint operation between Officers of the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau of An Garda Síochána and the Revenue Commissioners Customs Service, approximately 10 kilos of diamorphine (heroin) with an estimated value of €1.5 million, pending analysis was seized following the interception of two vehicles on the Naas Road, Southbound, close to Rathcoole.

Four premises were searched in Counties Wexford and Dublin.


Both men have been charged in connection with this investigation and are due to appear before court at the Criminal Courts of Justice at 10.30am this morning, Thursday 20th August 2015.
