Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the M1, northbound between junctions 15 and 16, close to Castlebellingham, Co Louth, which happened at about 10.30pm on Sunday 2nd August 2015.
The three car crash resulted in the death of one of the drivers involved, a man in his 40s. A woman in her 40s the driver of the second car was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital with serious injuries. The driver and passenger of the third car were also removed to hospital, but are not thought to be seriously injured.
The road at the scene remains closed to facilitate a technical examination of the area by Garda forensic collision investigators. Diversions are in place in the area.
