Drug seizure and arrests Dublin

As part of an operation targeting the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Shankill/Ballybrack area Gardaí from the Dun Laoghaire District Drugs Unit assisted by the Divisional Burglary Response Unit and local Detective Units carried out searches on a number of premises. The searches took place on Friday 31st July 2015.

Cannabis resin and prescribed drugs with an estimated value of €13,000, pending analysis were seized at a house in the Rathsallagh area, Shankill. A firearm, ammunition and a sum of cash were also seized during this search.

A man, 52 years, was arrested at scene and is currently detained at Dun Laoghaire Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

A second man, early 30's was arrested today, Saturday 1st August 2015 and is detained under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended at Dun Laoghaire Garda Station.
