Armed robbery at Kildalkey, Meath on the 20/8/15

Gardaí have arrested a male following an armed robbery at a shop in Kildalkey, Co. Meath on the 20th August 2015.

At approximately 5.45pm two males entered a shop armed with a hand gun and an iron bar. They threatened staff and removed an amount of cash before leaving the store. It’s understood they were driven from the scene in a waiting car. No shots were fired and none of the staff were physically injured during the incident.

During a follow up operation, involving Gardaí form the Meath Division and Regional Support Unit, a 24-year-old male was arrested in Navan shortly after midnight. He is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939 at Trim Garda Station. A car was seized by Gardaí during the arrest operation.

The investigation is ongoing.
