Two men charged - Serious assault in Cork City on the 28/4/15

Gardaí have charged two men, aged 19 and 25 years, in connection with an investigation into the serious assault of a male, 30 years,

which occurred at Churchfield Industrial Estate, Cork on Tuesday afternoon 28th April 2015. The two men are due to appear before Cork District Court 2 this morning, Thursday 30th April 2015.

The men were arrested on Tuesday 28th April 2015 and detained at Gurranabraher Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardai in Gurranabraher investigating a serious assault on a male(30's) at Churchfield Industrial Estate on the 28th April 2015 have arrested two males.

At approximately 4.45pm on the 28th April 2015 a businessman returned to his premises at Churchfiled Industrial Estate, Cork, as he was exiting his van he was confronted by two males who threatened him and demanded money, a struggle ensued. The businessman was seriously injured in the incident.

The two males fled the scene without any money. Gardai arrived and carried out a search of the area and two male(19 &25 years) were arrested, they were taken to Gurranabraher Garda station where they are being detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended..

The injured male was taken to Cork University Hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously around the scene at Churchfield Ind Estate to contact them in Gurranabraher on 021 4946200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
