Update - Firearms and drug seizure and arrest in Dublin on the 13/9/14

Firearms and Drugs Seizure 13th September 2014 - A 24 year old man arrested in connection with this investigation is expected to appear before Tallaght District Court tomorrow morning (15/9/14) at 10.30am.

As part of on-going intelligence-led operations targeting the sale and supply of drugs in Kilkenny and the South East area, Gardai from Kilkenny and Thomastown have seized cocaine and arrested a male. 


Gardai have seized a number of firearms, drugs and made three arrests following a planned operation targeting organised crime.

 
On the morning of the 13th September 2014 gardai from the Organised Crime Unit, assisted by members from the Garda National Drugs Unit, Crime and Security, The Emergency Response Unit and local units from Tallaght searched two housed in Deerpark Rise, Tallaght, D24.
 

During the search gardai recovered 5 firearms (subject to technical examination) magazines and a large quantity of ammunition. Cannabis herb and ecstasy tablets (pending analysis) with an estimated street value of up to €250,000 were also seized.
 

Two females and one male were also arrested and taken to Rathfarnham, Tallaght and Terenure Garda Stations. The 24 year old male is currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Rathfarnham Garda Station, a 33 year old female who was detained at  Tallaght  is due to appear before Tallaght District Court later this month in relation to the seizure. A 32 year old female who was detained at Terenure Garda Station was released last night and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
 

Currently there is one male in custody in Rathfarnham.
